چکیده

Jute is the golden fiber of Bangladesh, but its production declining due to involvement higher and processing costs, where a major portion cost needed for extraction. Labor unavailability increasing labor have led jute cost. To address these issues, this study looks at development power-operated cost-effective extraction machine aiming reducing The was conducted Rangpur regional office premises Practical Action in developed branded as “Aashkol”, which had following parts: feeding tray, primary roller, secondary grabbing rollers, collection stand, base frame, protection cover, spring-loaded tray under roller. Aashkol can extract green ribbon from stem, sticks were broken down into smaller pieces (3–6 cm). performance evaluation using different types (Deshi, Kenaf, Tossa) compared with another (KP model, introduced by Karupannya Ltd.). Aashkol-based improved retting systems also evaluated traditional systems. stem input capacity (4.99 t h−1) 47.6% than KP model (3.38 h−1). Compared system, across types, produced 9% yield saved 46% time. Overall, reduced 90% requirement 11.6 USD t−1 method.
